The Runner's World "The WSJ's 'Get Over It' Column, Translated" Column, Translated

Today a guy wrote a bizarre angry rant about some other guy's opinion column.  I've translated excerpts of it into different English from the English it was already in because I'm both upset about something really important to me and also pretty darn clever.

So a couple of days back, a gentleman by the name of Chad Stafko -- which is apparently his actual name, which I find awesome...

TRANSLATION:  I didn't agree with this guy.  His name is not as normal as mine is, and as an adult I should point out that I think his name is kind of weird.  This is a great mature way to respond to a person.

OK, so his essay wasn't the most cogent to grace the pages of the WSJ.

TRANSLATION: People who disagree with me don't make sense or follow logic because I am right so what's the point of doing anything more than skimming the article?

I think you'll agree, after reading this, that Mr. Stafko deserves our sympathy, not our scorn...

TRANSLATION:  Oh man!  I am really acing this!  I am going to look so smart and he's going to be so embarrassed!  I bet nobody's ever thought of this "please be nice to the poor brute" angle before!

TRANSLATION: Things anger me.  Especially when I'm driving.  Though, in fairness, maybe this is because I listen exclusively to right-wing talk radio in the car.

TRANSLATION: I did some research on this guy and he mainly writes conservative political stuff!  That has nothing to do with this argument, but I should toss a reference in there!

TRANSLATION: I can use Google.

TRANSLATION: This guy thinks he's so smart because he researched a bit before writing a thing!  What a chump!  I'd never do this kind of thing!

TRANSLATION: My editor asked me to include a graf that ties my rant into a broader social theme.  This is the best I could do.

TRANSLATION: This part offended me the most!  Also "graf" is a real way to abbreviate paragraph?

TRANSLATION: I have friends.  Honest, I do.

TRANSLATION: This paragraph is about how this jerk wasn't referring to runners as a whole, so I ignored it.  I'll just pop in a joke about how he probably has no friends!  Dang it, I am such a clever son of a gun!
