Huddled Masses
A recurring theme in my dreams lately has been "clumps of rodents." I'll be going into the attic and at the top of the stairs is a big, writhing clump of rodents, like somebody left a turkey leg on the floor or somesuch and they're all really into it. Or maybe I'll be climbing a tree at the mall and a clump of rodents will fall from higher branch onto my arm and I can't shake it off.
Anyway, last night I had a dream where I was walking down a street with a big hill one side of it, and on the side of the hill was (if you think I'm going to say "a clump of rodents" you're wrong!) TWO clumps of rodents! So I stopped at the first clump of rodents, reached out my arms, and I clapped as loud as I could. Most of the rodents were too busy doing whatever terrifying thing they were doing in the middle, but the ones nearest my hands tried to jump up. The problem is, it turns out all these rodents in the clump are actually attached somehow. So when they tried to jump, they pulled the clump off balance, causing the clump of rodents to roll down the hill and out into the street.
It was so hilarious to me that I woke up, fell back asleep and later had another dream where I told somebody I hadn't seen in a decade all about it, and they thought it was hilarious too.
